Homebuilder Portal

n5lp

fugio ergo sum
I noticed that one of our members is editing a new homebuilder resource.

"Kitplanes magazine has introduced a monthly online newsletter aimed at those thinking about building or buying a homebuilt aircraft. The Homebuilders' Portal will assemble archival material from 30 years of Kitplanes articles and columns and organize them into themes for each month's issue. Editor Louise Hose said the idea is to give prospective entrants to the homebuilders' world the information they need to make an informed decision. "Aircraft these days are quite robust and the safety record is steadily improving," said Hose. "They're way more cost-effective than certified aircraft."
Hose said the first issue of the newsletter, which will be available Aug. 12 by subscription through the Kitplanes website, will focus on preparing to enter the world of homebuilt aircraft. It will cover topics such as whether to buy or to build, insurance, costs and other considerations for new homebuilders."

And, it's free!

Thanks for the shout out, Larry. Looks like the AvWeb posting didn't mention that a subscription is free, but it is! The direct sign-up address is: http://www.kitplanes.com/includes/homebuilders-portal-email-signup.html

Please let those folks around your airport who aren't yet into experimental aviation and homebuilt newbies you know about the new initiative. I hope even experienced builders might find elements of Portal of interest. Let's continue to build this community.
