Default FS Garmin GTX 23ES & GDL 39R

Both units were installed new in March 2016 when I did my panel upgrade. They have been working working perfectly.

GTX 23ES - $1,750 which includes mounting tray, back plate and connector. This transponder will provide ADSB Out when connected to an approved position source.

GDL 39R - $500 unit only, no accessories except a DB 9 connector.

Shipping included to a US address in the lower 48.

Rick, Not trying to be nosey but why are you selling it? You have an awesome panel so I'm just trying to learn more about what this does or doesn't do for your mission.

Default Why selling - answer

Good question. I replaced these 2 boxes with a GTX 45R so it's only a small improvement.

The 2 biggest benefits are: (1) I free up a little space on the sub-panel where I had the GDL 39R mounted - I've got a couple of idea's on what may go there in the future and (2) I will now have traffic on my GTN-750 - which I didn't have with the 39R.

Also, sharing a hanger with brother only tends to encourage my addiction to new avionics.

I'll add that you also have FIS-B weather on the GTN now, both G3X displays are hardwired (no more bluetooth to the MFD) and lost the extra antenna on the belly that previously went to the 39R.

Rick, Walt,
I have the setup that Rick is selling. It frustrates me that I can only see the Wx on the co-pilot screen. Is it not possible to display the ADS-B weather on the 750 or PFD? At present I have both XM and ADS-B weather while deciding their respective values. Would love to get ADS-B on 750 or PFD.
Thanks.
Johan

Default I had weather on both screens.

Dorfie,
Something is not right if you don't have weather on your PFD. I had weather on both screens.

It had the GDL 39R hardwired to the PFD and bluetoothed to the MFD.

With the GDL39 you can only hardwire to one screen (PFD or MFD) and bluetooth to the other one. The GDL39 does not support weather/traffic to the GTN which was part of the reason for the switch to the 45R which supports all displays and the GTN hardwired.
