Question Garmin Magnetometer GMU22 location

Where is the GMU22 mounted in the RV-12? I did my Garmin installation before Vans began selling it, and I'm not happy with where I put it.
Thanks

Default Left wing

Dick, when I bought my kit, the ADAHRS went where the current drawings have you mount the GMU, so you're not off.

Probably not as easy with the wings done as you'd have to fish the wires out there, but you might consider mounting it out in the wing. I put mine in the 3rd bay in from the end of my left wing with the idea that it's out away from EMF sources.

For E-LSA CERTIFICATION of an RV-12 it has to be mounted where specified in the KAI (tail cone).

Scott, thanks for jumping in with that legal clarification... however, Dick clearly states his was built E-AB, as is mine.

Thumbs up gmu022

Im RV12 838. MINE IS MOUNTED on the top of the tail section per Vans. I also put the stiffner to minimize movement of the tail.
I mounted the adsb box on the aft side of aft baggage bulkhead and tied the adsb wiring into aft autopilot actuator

Default Not exactly ELSA

My -12 (with Viking engine and wing tanks) has over 100 mods, big and small - firmly in the EAB camp 😎
I fininshed it in four years to the day and managed to enjoy over four thousand hours doinlg it!
Yep, occasionally Iíll break something so I can fix it and make it better! 🙃

Good for both of you (not sure what problem you are solving by putting the magnetometer in a different location when it has worked fine in the tail cone of 500+ RV-12's).
I will admit I am guilty of not reading everyone's signature before making a post (especially if it is an entire paragraph long).
