Default Landing Gear Toe Alignment

Today I installed the landing gear, axles and measured for correct toe alignment using Vans method. The right is toe in 0.8 degrees, easily correctable with a 0.75 shim. The left however is toe in 2.2 degrees, off the provided chart. I'm a little disappointed in this as everything thus far in the kit has been spot on.

I'm just curious what othes have seen for their measurements. I loosened the left gear and wiggled it a bit and retorqued with no change. I suppose I can stack three shims (0.75+0.75+0.5) but not sure that is acceptable but will call Vans in the morning. I would rather pay the $75 for three shims than wrestle with all the tight bolts holding it in to replace the leg.
