Crates for maritime shipping

Hi all,

In the process of moving my project across the Atlantic from Europe to Canada, I will build my shipping crates shortly.

I consider having a little over what would be a QB pair of wings and fuselage.

For those of you that received QB wings and/or fuselages overseas, what sort of padding, wrapping or other protection in any, are found in the crates.

I'd like to imitate what Vans does to protect against (normal) shocks and moisture when shipping via a maritime container.

Thanks for your suggestions !!!

Eric, Van's did a great WD-40 anti-salt treatment. All the kit was well oiled and sea safe. The rest of the crates were designed to lock all the part using wrapping nylon technique and specific designed wood box.

If you like I could send you some QB pictures

Ciao Luke,

Grazie for your super fast reply.

Yes, I'd appreciate some photos if you have them.
A picture is always worth a thousand words!!!

All my inside parts are primed.
So if I understand, the outside bare aluminum should be coated with WD-40?
Great idea!!!
