Elevator trim servo stuck

Hi guys,
A friend of mine has an RV6 that has just been imported to OZ and is in the process of putting it back together. The problem he has is the trim servo will not come out of the elevator it drops out 1/4" and that`s it. Any ideas before it becomes damaged on removal???

Try moving the actuator (electrically) to either end of its travel to see if that helps. I have to do that with mine (sorry can't remember if mine requires fully extend or fully retract).

First, run it to the full trim down position (trim tab deflected fully up, trim shaft fully extended). It should then come out with a little coaxing...

Thanks guys, the servo cable has been cut an inch from were it goes into the horizontal stab which is why we are trying to remove it and running a new cable, we will try to add some power with what we have. Thanks for the reply's
