aileron balance question

Is it required to balance the aileron's and if so how do you do it ? Thanks G

I called Vans the other day to ask about the elevator balance procedure. While on the phone I confirmed that ailerons on the 6 are not manually balanced. I would be pretty sure the 7 is the same.

The heavy galvanized steel pipe in the aileron leading edge serves as the aileron balance. They aren?t 100% balanced by design - i.e. the balance isn?t heavy enough so the aileron would sit on the hinge without moving.

Build them per the plans and move on to the next task.
