Trimming the Main Gear Pant

Hi, I'm working on the main gear pants and hand sanding to make the forward and aft halves fit together. But I see there is a trim line on the front half. Not the trim line for wheel clearance, but another trim line that looks like you are suppose to cut about 1/4 inch off the length of the front gear pant. Is that right? Do I have to cut off 1/4 inch to that line and then sand to fit. Or can I leave that quarter inch and just make them fit with it?

Yes, there is a very faint trim line on the wheel pants where you can trim to fit them together better. There are also trim lines for the tire holes, but you really need to open those up quite a bit more to have sufficient clearance around the tires.
