RV-7 Tank Z bracket platenut rivet question

Ran into a tight rivet situation when working on riveting the platenuts to the Z brackets on the RV 7 wing. My tanks were built by Evans aviation. Looking to see how others completed this task. I might have to end up 1.) modifying my squeezer yoke 2.) buy a smaller yoke 3.) modify squeezer flush set 4.) new/modify bucking bar.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

You can buy a no-hole yoke with a thin nose, or you can use a long skinny bucking bar like for the elevator. Another option is to use pop rivets. My preference would be the no-hole yoke.
 
Yup... no-hole yoke, or a tungsten bucking bar. My tungsten bar is, I think, 3/4" thick and will get into some tight spots. Both of those items are well worth every penny paid in frustration avoided.
 
Another consideration is that bucking on a sealed tank would stress the parts more and be more likely to cause leaks than squeezing.
 
I squeezed quite a few tight rivets (-3) with a pair of pliers - I used the smooth jaw Knipex. May not have gotten the full specified squeeze on them, but you will be surprised how much you can squeeze these little guys. Useful in non-structural places like nutplates, you are only trying to hold the nutplate from turning while putting the screw in.
 
Plate nuts

I have used my back rivet plate as a bucking bar , it should work fine for your application .
 
Get a no hole yoke for your Tatco, and a set of quick change pins. You will need it a lot more in the times to come.
 
Yep... A no-hole yoke sets those in just seconds. As was stated, you'll need one (and a few others) many more times during construction...
