GAP 26 and VPX

I am working on wiring my -10 and confirming VPX circuit breaker values and came to the GAP 26. The Garmin manual (confirmed by the G3Xpert) says 20 amp CB required for a 14V system. VPX max circuit is 15 amps.

In searching the archives I see several people talking about running the wire back to the VPX and wondering if you are doing to to the 15A breaker or ?

There is also a table in the install guide that shows drawing 12 amps at -40 (and less as it gets warmer) is that what people are using for CB sizing?

Not sure if I need to wire it outside the VPX with a dedicated CB or not.

Thanks in advance.

Just checked. Mine (-10 unregulated) is hooked up to the VP-X J12-1 pin and is set as a 10 amp CB. I ALWAYS fly with pitot heat on and it has never given me a problem. Runs about 4.2 amps during flight. Installed by a professional.

Everyone I know of running a GAP 26 with the VPX has it running fine off of a 15A breaker, typically set to 12A with no issues.
