My KMD-150 Goes Dim

The screen on my KMD-150 goes dim periodically. It comes back to full brightness after a while, but with no discernible pattern or predictability.

I have approx. 1000 hr on the unit. Anybody else had this happen to them; and, if so, what did you do.
