This morning, Van flew the RV-1 again. This time was for an early morning photo shoot.

While he was away flying, Paul Dye "signed over" to me "The ONE" for delivery to its next stops as soon as Van returned.

I am happy to report that it is now in Savannah, GA for an event at the recently chartered, EAA Chapter 1514. Subsequent stops include Columbia, SC followed by a stop at the NC Formation Clinic.

Escorted, by Team RV member Jerry "Widget" Morris, it made its way this morning, over some beautiful inland areas of Florida and Georgia.

Photos to come.

Pic #1

If you have known Van or been around him for many years picture #1 is him to a tee. Could not have captured him at a better moment. Always deep in thought but not alot to say. Not only a great designer but a good man, and not one to toot his own horn so to say.

Just going to call you

James, I was just going to call you when I saw this. When is it going to be at KCUB and for how long?

Thanks, Louise

Thanks. I knew I had seen it somewhere, but couldn't remember where. Oldtimers I guess! :) Looking forward to seeing it and admiring the great job y'all did restoring it.

Credit to "Widget"!!

Forgot to mention that all of the photos I posted were taken by Jerry "Widget" Morris.

Especially the ones that I am in. :) :)

Great Job!

I'd like to throw a plug out there for the RV1 tour crew. After seeing RV1 at SNF, I decided to drove to Savannah to EAA Chapter 1514's meeting. They were hosting the plane for a few days. First off, Like like to thank Bob MacDonald, and team for allowing an outsider to join them for this special event. Special shout out to James "CB" Clark, who is the pilot ambassador of RV1 on this leg of her journey. CB is an outstanding individual, pilot (Team RV member), and is also a very good spokesman! The RV1 tour team made an excellent choice in having CB carry the torch on this leg. I'm sure that all the pilots chosen for his mission were picked for their ability to think quickly, calmly, and to be able to analyze and process things rapidly. I'm sure that Ernie, Paul , Louise, and others were also looking at who could best represent Van's, Friends of RV1, and experimental aviation in general, when they were making their choices. I'm sure all of them are excellent, as is CB.

Outstanding presentation, James----and thank you!
Tom
