Is it possible to install egt and cht probes on the remaining two cylinders and have the temperature readings shown on my D180?

The D-180 has the capability to display the EGT and CHT for up to 6 cylinders. The hard part will be installing the probes (of which I have no knowledge).

You only have two CHT's on the 912 (#2 & #3 cyl. and the probes are already there) , but you can hook up all four EGT's. This is all quite easy. For the EGT's you only need to drill a hole in the exhaust pipes 100mm or 3.9" from the exhaust flange port. Then just run the wires into the instrument panel.

Good question, Rich. By having egt probes in all cylinders and using one ignition module at a time, you should be able to pinpoint a spark plug that might be miss firing. Also if one ignition module fails you should note a rise in egt's in all cylinders. It might also be able to show a difference in performance between carburetors. It appears all that is necessary to do this is add the probes and wiring. Stay tuned.
