Vans Starter Solenoids

I recently had a friend remark about how my starter solenoid in my 3B was mounted in the typical vertical position on the firewall. One of his friends pulled some g?s one day in his RV doing aerobatics, and his starter engaged in flight causing damage, smoke, and possible fire... The theory was that over time a spring in the solenoid became weaker, and the g?s allowed the spring to collapse and engage the starter. I guess the best way to mount a starter solenoid therefore should be sideways or upside down.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of this issue and is it a real concern ?

I posted a question regarding the same thing but got shot down by more experienced RVers. From what I saw, most aerobatic guys mount their starter solenoids sideway to prevent the same issue your friend experienced.
