D180 and oil pressure

Don Patrick

Is it normal for the D180 to be showing oil pressure when the engine is off? What would cause a reading like 80 PSI without the engine on?

I have the new Klavico sensors and will be going back to the hanger tonight to figure it out.

Thanks

Don

Check to see if there is a "sensor type" option within the D180 menu for oil pressure settings. It may make a difference in your oil pressure readings. Check the installation manual for the oil pressure section.

Or a bad ground....

If you replaced a standard resistive sensor with a Kavlico unit, you MUST configure a different sensor "type" in the 180. The Dynon Kavlico addendum or SB gives the sensor type number for each Kavlico type. Later revision manuals may include the sensor type number for the Kavlicos, but I don't recall them having it, only in the addendum.
