Quick build insurance

I read a comment the other that said insurance for an airplane built from a quick build kit is much cheaper than an airplane built from a slow build kit. Is this true? If so, how much of a difference is there? What is the reasoning behind this? Any data points on insurance cost for a RV-8 with a high time tail wheel pilot.

I have never heard this, nor has the insurance company ever asked of it was a slow or fast build kit.

None of the applications I filled out asked anything about who or how the airplane was built. This sounds like BS to me.
