Wing Trial Fit Question

n174sw

Member
Building a 7A. Tail and wings done. Fuselage is mostly done but instrument panel structure is not yet installed. I do not have my finish kit yet. I have the fuselage on a stand. I would like to trial fit my wings to drill the skins, set the incidence and drill the flap control rod hole. Has anyone done the initial wing fit without putting the fuselage on the gear?
Thanks.

Questions

You can using saw horses cut down so you can reach things. I would recommend getting farther into your fuse construction. It is desirable to be able to do the fuel system, flap linkage, control system, fairing etc at one time. Then take them back off for the rest of the fuselage construction.

If you are just doing the incidence and lead/lag check short saw horses will work great and you can get things done in a few hours.

Good luck. Fun stuff.
