Sealing canopy rib question

Hi all

KAI 29A-05 Rev.4 step 11 says to seal the base of the F-1202H canopy rib.
What about the gap between the rib and firewall upper? Will this be done at a later stage
or will the canopy frame takes care of this gap?
I have seen that some builders have sealed that part, but to me that gap looks quite large to get properly sealed with fuel tank sealant and the instruction does not explicit tells you to do so.

Thanks a lot!!

I sealed the gap with fuel tank sealant. Still good after 6 years.

Chris,
Photos deleted. I should have looked closer at the gap you are talking about. I did not seal that large opening.

Thanks for your reply Tony.
Yes it's the large gap on the top of the rib which I am asking about.
I sealed along the base and the bottom corner.

Chris, that gap finishes up covered up pretty well by the avionics bay cover and the canopy frame fibreglass. I guess it's possible for water to get in, but I think you may be submerged before it happens.:D
I didn't worry about it. The main thing is it follow the instructions and seal along the lower part of the canopy rib, as water could lie along that area. Also follow the SB about sealing the front edge of the avionics bay cover. Hope this helps.
Cheers, DaveH
