how much difference is there between the old style pants and the new ones? what do you see in speed diffrence? is it worth the trouble?

I installed the new style pants on my -6 just before Oshkosh. Definitely looks better, just more current/modern.
I've also seen a cruise speed increase in speed of around 5 knots. I have a 150 hp O-320, one electronic ignition, and a Warnke prop. I had some other things changing at the same time and didn't do a back to back comparison, but I've got performance notes from many flights to compare to. I also noticed that down low at FT it used to run right out to 2700 rpm, now it'll go to 2750.
You may not think it's worth it while you're doing it, but it is!
