GTR 200 PTT wiring question

Can the Garmin GTR 200 be wired so that a panel mounted PTT switch (one for pilot and one for co-pilot) is connected to the PTT input and ALSO be able to use an inline PTT (Telex type or similar) connected between the headset mic and the mic jack?

If so, is a diagram of that available? The manual shows the PTT connections for a panel mounted switch, maybe I am missing something obvious.

Thanks!

Yes, should be no problem. In this case, a ground is a ground. See Note 7 in Appendix D.

Hello John,

As Mike says, guidance is provided in Appendix D of the Rev. L GTR 200 Installation Manual to accomplish this, but if this is not clear, just email us and we will provide a marked up diagram.

We used to always show the PTT wiring being connected to the tip of the MIC jack in case someone wanted to use a hand MIC, but since so few do, we prefer to keep the PTT wiring totally separate from the MIC wiring as is presently shown in the manual.

Thanks,
Steve
