Wd-641 roll bar fitting

GeoffH

Active Member
Hello, trying to fit the roll bar and it seems like the mounts need to be twisted in. Each mount has 3/32" toe in. Each side still needs to be twisted in almost 3/16" to make them parallel with the sides. I have read about bending the roll bar to make it wider or narrower but am not sure how to twist the mounts.

Looking for any ideas or comments that may help.

Roll bar

The flanges won't matter very much and there's no way short of cutting and welding to get them perfect. I wouldn't fight it. Get the roll bar to fit side to side so they are close to the edge of the longeron. On the slider, the side skin fits right up against the side so you want them close but not past the edge of the longeron. Once you get there, drill and install temporary bolts but don't cut the forward roll bar brace or bolt anything permenant. Reason is the slider frame will determine the final position of the roll bar. You may need to shim a degree or two forward or aft to match the canopy frame.

I have the roll bar bent to the correct width and in position 7/32" from the edge as per plans. The problem now is with the mount flanges moved outwards the fwd skin interferes with the flange enough that it would cause a bend in the skin if I were to try and cleco it along the sides.
