I am about to purchase an airplane that needs a new panel (no autopilot yet, so servos, too). I have fallen into the slippery slope now. I asked GRT for their estimates of install times, and they think about 10 hours for the Mini and 20 hours for the 10.1 sound reasonable---which is why I think it may make sense to replace the full six-pack with a 10.1" one rather than just the AI with the Mini.
Not being a builder, I figure that someone who has put together GRT systems a few times can install such a system in 1/4 of the time as it would take me, so it makes sense to hire someone to do it for me. Doesn't have to be a formal shop, but should be someone with very good GRT familiarity and workmanship. I am located in SoCal, so somewhere within 500 miles would be nice. any recommendations?
