So I've been using AKZO primer, so far so good.
I'm working on my fuel tanks, and I know that I'm not to prime the interior.
But I want to prime the exterior parts, and am looking for tips. The manual suggest priming the z-brackets and the exterior part of the tank braces. It doesn't talk about priming the external faces of the inboard/outboard ribs or the piece that the z-brackets connect to?.. I'm inclined to not prime those because it seems hard to mask the areas that should not be painted on them.
Any tips?
What is happening when you set the pulled rivets to close out the tank. The rivets are twirled in sealant and put in the hole and then pulled. What makes that hole seal?
