Lower gear brace in way of riveting skin

Page 29-03 has us bolt in the lower gear braces and setup the fuselage to go on its side. Then we are to rivet per figure 3. But the gear braces cover a number of the holes making a shop head impossible.

Did you just unbolt and remove it after setting the rivets in the lower drag fitting?

Can the nylon lock nuts be removed and reinstalled here?

Any gotchas?

Yes, I know this is a 7 year old post.
This is for the next guy who finds it (thanks WIKI) because he is scratching his head trying to figure out how exactly those rivets could possibly get set with the gear brace in the way…. Just like I was last night.

If you read the next page carefully, you will see that the rivets on the bottom skin get set starting in the center and the plans specifically call out doing the areas “that require the removal of bolts” last. So, you will install the gear braces to get the majority of the rivets set, then remove them long enough to set the rivets in that space.

Build on.

Use temporary nuts for all gear braces at this point as these will need to be removed for the side skin rivets that come later in the section. Not until page 29-18, steps 10 and 11, do you final torque these. Easy to miss these steps when trying to determine when to final torque these.
