G3X warning lights

How important are the master warning and master caution warning external lights on the G3X? Are the warnings and cautions that come up on the screen obvious and persistent enough that you would have to have your head up your as not to know they are there and the external lights just distractions or are there times when the external lights are a good idea?

The visual warnings on the display are not prominent imo. Even if they were, I want as many warnings as possible if I have a serious engine issue. If you just lost oil pressure, are you ok with the possibility that you may not be immediately warned of that fact?

See if you think these warnings are obvious...

I will say that some of the warnings can be set to have a warning tone too... so that would help

I stopped installing MW/MC lights in panels as I thought they offered little real value and are an additional distraction. The warning messages on the PFD are very well displayed and if you like you can make them different colors with or without warning tones.

MW/MC lights will require a separate dimmer otherwise they will be full brightness all the time adding to the complexity of the installation, there is also no way to 'cancel' the warnings so they can become more of a distraction than I personally prefer.

As Walt mentions, you have the option of including an audible alert to the CAS Warning messages. This can be accomplished when programming the gauge markings for the various EIS parameters. Yellow Range + Alert will generate a visual CAS message on the PFD, Red Range + Alert will generate a similar PFD CAS message, as well as an audible tone in your headset to draw your attention to the alerted condition.

Thanks,

Justin

I installed one warning light on the panel for the critical item, like oil pressure. It does get the attention better than on the screen warning.
