Default Intercom

I'm starting to look at what I want/need on my panel. I'd like to have an IFR panel with dual com radios.

My question is how complex of an intercom panel do I need. Can I use a simple PM1000, or will I need something more elaborate like a Garmin PMA 245?

I believe the PM1000 is just an intercom. It doesn't interface multiple radios.

You're gonna want the functionality of an audio panel. The PMA 245 is a nice panel and it comes with a 6 place intercom, stereo and bluetooth I believe.

I have a single radio with second frequency monitoring feature, but needed a PM3000 intercom for the unswitched audio inputs from Skyview and the GNS 480 nav/com. My flying is exclusively VFR, with the plane equipped for an emergency IFR capability (I'm instrument rated but not current).
If you are looking for a second radio, and already considering a PS Engineering intercom, they have a combination radio/audio panel/intercom in their PAR200B.

Default PDA360EX

I'm currently equipped for (1) com VFR but will be updating to IFR in the future with addition of GPS/NAV/COM. I've installed the PDA360EX (http://www.ps-engineering.com/PDA360EX.shtml)

I had Stein make me a harness with leads for future equipment. I'm no EE but wiring has been pretty straight forward so far.
