Tunnel Grommet

I bought the kit from Vans to make the center console panel on angle for a CB panel forward of the fuel tank selector valve. Included in the kit is a length of caterpillar grommet, that is to be used around the edge of the stock fuselage fuse panel hole to protect wires going up through the hole.

The grommet supplied won't stay in place with friction alone; it seems the right size but is too firm/springy to take the shape of the hole. It really doesn't want to grip.

So I was going to cut it in a few lengths and epoxy it to the edges. The milspec calls out Armstrong A-12 epoxy. Is there anything a little more economical/readily available?
