Spark plug wire question

Charles in SC

Well Known Member
Today is the first time I have threaded my plug wires around the engine to kind of see where they go. They seem to be about 12-18 inches longer than they need to be. Is there a special way I should bunch them up to store the slack?
Thanks in advance!

assuming aircraft not automotive

'Bundling' the wires will not typically cause bleed-over . BUT your best option is to shorten them. Re-attaching the tips is not difficult - but get somebody who's been there to show you how, please....

I like them a little long in the rear at the mags. Allows me enough room to easily pull the mag out from the accessory case, and then tilt the gear end down to access the screws for the lead caps.
