Remedy For a Sticky Airspeed Indicator?

ArVeeNiner

I have a Vans airspeed indicator that?s been working since 2012. Lately it?s been sticking when I first takeoff. A couple of taps fixes it for the entire flight. Any remedy?s out there?

Dynon skyview? :D

Seriously, it needs to be cleaned and lubed by an instrument repair place.

Yea, that?s what I figured.

Actually I do have a Dynon D-180 as well. The round gauge is supposed to be my backup but I?m so used to looking at it that in reality, it?s my primary AS indicator.

Sticking Airspeed Ind.

I have a Sigmatek in my Citabria that sticks on the peg. It comes to life around 55 mph and works fine after. It was cleaned and serviced some years ago for the same thing but it has been doing this for the last year and doesn't seem to be getting worse. For me now anyway, I'm in the "If it works, don't fix it" mode. We'll see.
