Canopy Switch Wiring

I am trying to wire the canopy latch switch to my Dynon engine monitoring system (EMS) I can't figure out which wires goes where.

The switch has a common, normally open, and a normally closed tab. The Dynon EMS is putting out almost 5 volts from the general purpose input. Do I need to run one of these to ground?

Hook a ground to the common terminal and hook the general purpose input to the normally open terminal.
