Elevator trim cable routing

mfalcon

I'm New Here
Hi all,

I have an RV4 (G-RVER) that was originally build in the US and has an alternative routing for the trim tab cable. The elevator torque tube has been drilled and a stiffening tube welded in place running through the torque tube, which the trim cable then runs through. Vans are aware that a number of aircraft were built in the same way, but it was never an official method of routing the cable.

I was just wondering if anyone else had the same setup of the trim cable or had built an elevator this way? I'd like to try and confirm the size of the stiffening tube used as our group is trying to have this officially approved for use in the UK.

Thanks,

Michael

Hopefully this will work...
