Sec 22 lower firewall sealant

Hi Guys

S22 is the assembly of the lower fwd fuselage. It only requires sealant between the top of the firewall bottom and the firewall shelf.

Why no sealant around the sides and bottom of the firewall bottom?

After the side skins are installed, you will find the instructions call for running a bead of sealant on the inside of the fuselage where the side skins and bottom skins meet the firewall.

I would have assumed that it would be more effective to seal off all around the firewall on the flanges prior to riveting but I assume that Vans knows a lot more than me
