Wire Routing Past Spar in 8A

I know that this has been covered in other threads, but I'm hoping to kick loose some good pictures for reference.

I am installing a Garmin autopilot in my flying -8A and need to route the two wiring harnesses for the pitch and trim units from behind the panel to the far side of the spar. The existing pass through holes don't have room, so my plan at the moment is to drill a hole in the spar web adjacent to the hole that the elevator pushrod goes through--similar to the hole shown in this picture.

Any thoughts/problems with this plan? Any good pictures of how you solved this problem?

Thanks!

A hole in that location should work. Just be very careful to drill low enough so you don?t nick the bottom of the wing spar bars. That would be a very expensive and time consuming error to fix.

Here are some pass throughs with a 2" for rear heat.
