#27 dimple

On the trim access reinforcement doubler on the elevator they want you to dimple a #27 hole. Am I correct in assuming I can use my 1/8" dimple die for this? Is there a technique to make sure the dimple is centered since the pilot will be slightly too small?

You can if you want but it will be too small.
The tool sellers, sell dimple dies for #6 screws. They have a #27 pilot.
It is one of the recommended tools listed in the tool list in the construction manual.
