Harness Question

Hi,

I'm interested in upgrading from the stock Vans harnesses and am considering the Crow and Hooker 5 point with ratchet.

The pictures make the ratchet in the Hookers look thinner. Anyone know if that's the case and what the difference is in thickness?

Thanks,
Craig

Craig,

I'm not sure why you are going to need ratchets in an RV6.

Even with an inverted system, it's really not necessary - better a nice comfortable lap belt - get it tight, you will be fine.

Don't forget, in a SBS you will quickly get crowded with straps and passenger etc etc.

Buckle not ratchet

Sorry guys. I'm referring to the buckle style.

Kam-loc for Crow vs. Rotary latch for Hooker. The Kam-loc looks a lot thicker than the Rotary latch on the Hooker.

That's the Crux of the question.

I can't give you a comparison Craig, but I have Crow's in two airplanes, one set from about seven years ago, another purchased last year. I like them both, but the newer ones are a little nicer. They are thicker than the military ones I am used to using, but for me, not objectionable (and a whole lot cheaper!).
