Top of Cowl Finish

I'm preparing to paint my RV-8 and was wondering if there would be glare problems from the top of the cowl if it has a glossy finish (probably will use a deep blue Jet Glo). The top of the instrument panel is flat black - would it be a good idea to go flat black on top of the cowl as well? What's your experience here?

I have a black glare shield and a shiny white top cowl. Not a problem, IMO.

I have a black glare shield and a polished metal forward fuselage ahead of the windshield. In front of that is a glossy yellow cowling. No issues.

Take a look at some pics of an 8 inflight , it flys tail high and the cowl slopes down , you never see it . It took me a few hours getting used to sight picture of level flight .
