F-867 hinge pin

This question is for older RV-8 builders. (The kit not you). I have a kit that was bought in 2003 and am in the process of putting on the forward bottom skins. Please refer to DWG 36. I have installed the hinge halves on the F-802KPP as per the plans. Now I am reading that there is a hole to be drilled in the LEFT F-851PP to push the hinge pin through that holds the F-867 cooling air ramp. Should this actually be the RIGHT side? The hinge half riveted to the F-802KPP is on the RIGHT side. It would seem to me that this is the side that begs to have the hinge pin started through. Thoughts or other assembly ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Rich, I did not make my pin removable. There's no reason to do that. You don't need the extra hole in your airframe anyway.

OK. I will see if I can get the hinge pin in to hold the F-867 before I put the F-851 in place. Thanks for the help. Rich
