Skybolt flange priming/painting?

Here's another possibly stupid question from the land of the newbs. On many build sites I look at I see unprimed or painted skybolt flanges. Is it general consensus to leave them as is and when or if the plane is painted they will get painted then? I feel funny not priming them before riveting them on. Thanks!!

FWIW I powder coated mine with a home powder coating system (Eastwood) and toaster oven.

They look great! I was thinking of getting a powder coating set up from harbor freight to mess around a little. I think I may do the flanges like you did. You also did the baffles didn't you?

Yes, baffles too although they are more challenging to get into a toaster oven without brushing the part on something and wiping the powder before it gets baked on. Once baked on the coating is very tough.
