N68TP RV-8 First Flight

Took off yesterday for first flight. The flight was 30 minutes long, climbed up over Paine Field. I kept the power up due to the new engine breaking in. Doesn't have the kick on take off like the rocket but I do like the lower fuel burn. I downloaded the data log from the Skyveiw and all the numbers looked good. This is a pretty handy tool.
I got the 30 min flight video clipped down to about 8 min. Not very exciting but maybe that's a good thing.

Congratulations Tom. I'd be interested in your opinion of the -8, especially compared to the Rocket and the -6. Take care and be safe.

Congratulations Tom! I should have been looking out my office window here at Paine Field to see you go. I'm behind you about 18 months on my project. First flight will be out of Arlington. I'm looking forward to flying on your wing locally.

2nd Flight.

Got the second flight in yesterday, No major issues so far. I did have to change some of the settings on the Skyview alarms. The Oil PSI was set to low. Wind was a bit gusty on the second flight (21 KTS) almost directly down the runway the 8 handled it no problem with that big tail.
1.5 hours so far, sill keeping the power up until engine breaks in.
