Default FS: Kannad Compact AF 406 ELT

Kannad Compact AF 406 ELT package, minus the antenna, $750

I'm still not sure how I did it, but I purchased and installed this ELT thinking it had the internal GPS, but it does not.

It started out as ACS PN 11-09525, $986. Upon realizing that it wasn't what I thought it was, I ordered the Integra model, which is a direct swap for the same wires and bracket.

So for sale here is the ELT, the 6' of coax that came with the Compact, the 30 feet of shielded cable that came with the compact (I didn't use either in the original installation), and the manuals that came with the compact.

Additionally, there is a brand new bracket, DIN connector, and RC200 panel remote, still sealed in their packages. These shipped with the Integra.

This package is the same thing as the ACS 11-09525, except it is missing the antenna, which is available here: http://www.skygeek.com/kannad-014562...ck-250knt.html for $136. The integra kit did not include an antenna, so I'm keeping the original. Also, I'm pretty sure the ACS kit came with two crimp-on BNC connectors, but I could only find one, so I have included it, plus a chinese connector that I had on hand.

Asking $750 including USPS shipping. (Price is based on the original 986 minus 136 for an antenna, -$100 for it being "used".) And you don't have to pay the $50 shipping charge from ACS. It's frustrating when they cancel the free shipping on something "hazardous" when it really isn't hazardous.

For those in the USA this is an excellent deal on one of the best 406 ELT's out there.

For the collective's education, what makes it better than the usual ACK model?

Sorry for dirtying your thread, OP.

What I liked about it vs the ACK was that the Kannad doesn't require an additional buzzer, and the Kannad panel remote doesn't require a battery. The ACK requires a battery for the panel remote, and a battery for an external buzzer, in addition to the main ELT battery. And they are somewhat specialized batteries that I don't keep around for other purposes.
