Patching a hole in canopy

Ouch - ok, I'll admit it - I managed to complete fitting and permanently attaching my canopy without checking that the pre-drilled hole at the canopy top thru which the handle shaft fits. It's off by maybe 1/4 inch.

Seeking your guidance please.

McMaster Carr - look for a bushed shoulder washer in plastic and take it up to size. Re centre in correct place.

Or glue a piece of perspex in with perspex cement and re drill. Then you need a smartly cut vinyl sticker to go over it :D

Make sure that the cement is made specifically for acrylic. It is like melting and welding the acrylic pieces together.

Don?t feel Bad. On my first homebuilt I got a canopy crack propagating from an attachment screw hole. Fortunately it was in a spot where a 2? ventilator hole made sense! Of course I had to cut one on the other side for symmetry.
