CHT problems

Looking for some info. Also posted in the RV7 forum. Have Vans CHT that is pegged when powered on. Does anyone know the resistance the sender should read in a 90 degree environment or what the resistance across the sender inputs on the gauge should be. Sender is the IE P-100. If this is a pt100 type sender, I should see 112.45 ohm at 32c (90f), but cant confirm this.

Trace the ground

Your issue sounds like the gage power or ground circuits have a poor/weak connection. I would reground the (-) gage pin and check 12 volts (+) on the power side.

Thanks for the input. It took a new gauge to fix the problem. For people trying to test this in the future the IE p-100 sender is not a pt100 type sensor and does not follow those resistance/temp values. The IE-P-100 reads .6 ohms at approx 78 degrees and the gauge sensor inputs 4.68m ohm.
