I'm doing it now, with the canopy frame complete but no canopy in yet. I want to get all the pieces placed and wiring runs located, then close up the forward canopy skin. The proceed on with the canopy. Some of the rivets up under the forward skin can't be shot (by me) with the canopy in place. I'd like the front buttoned up. A lot of people say close that front skin last, but too much interference/rework I think if I don't get it done earlier.

Right now with the canopy frame on I can see how it overlaps the sub-panel, get in to put some nutplates for screwing boxes down, and place all the pieces so that I'm not surprised or upside down doing it later.
