I was thinking through a doubler and reading the G3X manual on the subject.
I wish I had done this when the top skin was off (years ago). I know that people don't always install the doubler with rivets to the skin and instead opt to just put the nutplates on a doubler and fit it up underneath that way.
If I did want to put the double in with the AD4 rivets called out, what is the best way to dimple the top skin?
Was also thinking of using NAS #40 rivets and hand-countersinking the skin to get them flush - easier than trying to drill and dimple big rivets. A compromise between what seems hard and risky and getting it attached well to the airframe.
What is the best and safest way?
