Digital recorder in PS 1000ii intercom

Has anyone every bothered to hook this feature up? Is it worth it? Can you describe the wiring?

Hi Bob:

First let me tell you how happy I am for you that you persevered in getting back in the air...good on you!!! And I enjoyed reading about your trip out east.

IF the intercom has the recorder, you'll see a 1/8" jack in the rear of the unit. This is where a momentary switch is connected to. Each time you press the "Play Back Button" that is mounted remotely, you'll hear the last recorded message.

Its very useful IF you get used to pressing the button instead of the PTT-Transmit button and asking to repeat.

It took me sometime to get into that pattern, but once I did, I used it when I wasn't ready for that radio call.

So there's no wiring that's needed to existing jacks etc... it's simply installing the PTT inline, yes? Sounds simple enough!
