Please let me know if any of the links are not appropriate. This one hits me hard for reasons outside of flying. (I think this was the first fly away RV-12, too?)

Looks like so far his passenger may survive, at least.

Very sad. Just saw this posted on reddit where the pilot was a signifiant presence. Not sure if he was highly active here.
Thoughts are with his wife and family.
 
He was a wonderful guy. I knew him, and had spent time with him recently. Very actively engaged in growing his flight school. A real loss to the he community.
