Camguard Ounce Measurements

Silly Question---how do you measure 1.8oz on the Camguard when you put in a quart bottle of oil? do you actually use a scale? or do you use a children's medicine measuring cup? or ...

plus

Plus or minus. Not critical - just don't add whole bottle

I add a bit every quart of oil to somewhat mix it

I also just guesstimate using the side of the bottle. Close enough is good enough. I pour half a bottle of oil in the engine, then add the appropriate amount to the other half of the oil bottle. Shake it up and pour it in. That's my technique anyway.

Wouldn't seem to make a difference

I agree that approximate quantities of Camguard to oil is good enough. Don't know why you would bother to carefully mix it with each quart when changing oil. As soon as you start the plane, the oil pump will mix it for you. It is really all about how Camguard sticks to surfaces longer after shutdown than what it does when the engine is running.

Mike Bush recommends going up to 10% if the airplane is going to sit for a while.
5% is recommended but putting in more won't hurt.
