W&B Method

FYI, here is how I weighed my aircraft. This actually the second time I did it, the first was done by jacking the aircraft up on wing jacks with tail ballast... kind of precarious and difficult.

First, I made three identical weighing ramps:

Each ramp has a removable section:

Into which a pair of My Weigh digital freight scales can be fit:

A platform is placed on the scales, the aircraft level is checked, and the measurement made:

Rinse, lather, repeat for each wheel.

Note that the platforms are designed so that the airplane can be rolled back on the level part to change the scales around. It took about 2 hours to do the complete measurement, including all of the levelling (by adjusting tire pressures).

Nice!!!!

Really nice Walter!!

I looked at the data section as I wanted to er "borrow" this to do one for the RV6/RV6A. Any tips on that?

Or, if you have the time, might it be easier for you to make a change than to tell 10 of us how? :)

I suspect MANY of us 6 flyers would be MOST GRATEFUL!!

Whaddaya say? Can ya help a fella in need?? :)

Thanks in advance.

I have two interactive excel spreadsheets which numerically and graphically show your cg envelope; one for a 7 the other for a 7A.

All you do is input the max gross weight on the second page (Data) of each
spreadsheet to what ever you want it to be, plug in your wheel weights, pilot, fuel, passenger and baggage and yer done.
