AOA indications with plugged pitot?

I have an older Advanced Flight Systems AOA indicator with the brain box that has 4 tubes going into it: upper and lower AOA ports and pitot and static. I realized that one of the tests I have NOT done, is to determine the usefulness of AOA should the pitot become clogged. I had presumed that AOA would be a great backup and then remembered that it has pitot plumbed into its brain box. I don't know what the pitot does for AOA.

Anybody checked/tested this or understand the brain box?

any rv in redmond oregon

looking for someone that can give me a ride to sunriver oregon for the rv class on the 5th of may. I am building a rv10 and going to the 5 day class in sunriver. Thanks Bruce

Jeremy,

It is my understanding that the AFS AOA and it's two ports are standalone from the pitot and static systems. A plugged pitot (or static) line should have no affect on AOA indication. Just to be sure I'd call AFS.
