Wheel Pants

Started working on the main gear pants, and wanted to see what the group has to say...

The aft section is straight forward for marking the center lines and getting it plumb. My question deals with the forward section. It is not a round nose. You can feel along the front that there is a definite "ridge". Scuffing that ridge with a piece of 400 sandpaper yields a very nice line. So, the question is:

Have you guys been setting the aft piece plumb, then setting the forward piece plumb prior to drilling holes or have you just lined up the wheel cutouts between forward and aft pieces?

If you plumb the forward and aft sections, the wheel cutouts do not quite line up...

Thoughts?
